I believe the stocks are 1" and round. (I replaced my stocks and so I don't have them to measure.) I replaced mine with 1" HD Cafe style bars which are a little bit oval in shape. It's hard to tell looking at them. This caused some minor problems with mounting the controls.
My point is that even if you replace 1" bars with 1" bars, the controls may not fit perfectly as you might expect...but it's not a big deal if they don't....
The bar change was the best thing I've done to my bike, along with the seat mod.
